Zorgvliet Wine Estate provided a gorgeous backdrop for this small destination wedding. Nestled at the entrance to the Franschhoek Valley, the estate boasts jaw-dropping views of the panoramic mountains and vineyards. The estate’s classic architecture and scenic views offered a blend of sophistication and natural beauty, creating an ideal setting for a wedding that seamlessly combined New York flair with South African charm.

From the moment the day began, it was clear that this was going to be a luxurious and fun wedding. The bride, radiant in her stunning gown, and the groom, looking dashing in his tailored suit, both embraced the local culture with a touch of New York sophistication. A particular highlight of mine was capturing all the men trying to figure out how to tie a bowtie before the ceremony. Their ceremony was heartfelt and personal, with vows exchanged under the soft glow of the South African sun. The reception was nothing short of magical. All the guests enjoyed a lavish feast beneath a canopy of freshly picked flowers and fauna from the area. As a photographer, capturing the candid moments of laughter, dancing and heartfelt toasts was a true delight. I feel like I came as a photographer and left as a friend.
