“As a curator” has become the way I document weddings. Curators are gatherers who calmly and discreetly collect beautiful things for preservation and wonder. They are also artists who craft experiences with those gathered pieces. Ultimately, they’re witnesses and champions of your beautiful moments. In the context of weddings, I, as a curator, I collect your beautiful moments and the stories that connect them, highlighting the most authentic parts and then deliver them back to you in artistic ways that reflect their honest beauty.
I believe moments should be captured as they come — candid, fleeting, emotive and best left uninterrupted. Moments like your granny’s laugh or your dad’s best attempt at hiding a tear. That being said, I will also direct you at appropriate moments — to help you look and feel confident, show off your dress and capture those jaw-dropping images your grandchildren will return to over and over again. This style of wedding photography has become known as SOFT EDITORIAL.
I photography all my weddings on digital and analogue film. Digital brings quantity and quality, with lots of room for me to work with your images during the editing process. Film rewards intention and artistry with unique, tangible imagery. Both are incredible mediums and I love getting to offer both.

Hi, I’m Damian. I’ve been a wedding photographer in Cape Town for four years now. Honestly, I still can’t believe people want me to take photos of them — it’s such an incredible honour and blessing.
I’m an art fanatic. I’m that person who could spend a whole day in a museum. I have always wanted to create things and I’ve tried many forms of art. Photography is one of the forms that stuck! I also love slow travel, coffee, connection with people and Jesus.
I pride myself on being a friend and a guide. Previous couples have described me as a calming on their wedding day and have said that I helped remain present. I really value this — I want to be someone who holds your vulnerability well, helps you make the most of your special day and be someone you can wholeheartedly trust.

Film photography is a lost art now being rediscovered in the wedding photography world. It takes immense skill and some specialised camera gear. But the results are unrivalled and full of life and texture. By nature, it always creates the most stunning, intentional images that are likely going to be your favourite shots from your gallery. It also cannot be replicated with digitial – we’ve all tried. If you want to know more I have a whole article on it that you can read.
I love shooting a both of digital and analogue film at weddings. All my packages now include both mediums.

Even though I am a Cape Town-based wedding photographer, I am more than happy to travel across South Africa and (and the world) to photograph your wedding.
