A collection of digital and film images, highlighting how I would approach your wedding.
The kind of images
couples trust me to create
The balance
between editorial and candid
The photography world would have you think it’s either/or when it comes to editorial or documentary styles, but I believe both approaches are important.
I work hard hold in-tension the authentic and the artistic. At your wedding, I will unobtrusively catch those hidden moments. But when it is appropriate, I will guide you into feeling and looking incredible. Catching your dad crying while also having jaw-dropping shots with your wedding party is my promise.
As part of our discussions together before your wedding day, we plan how we can achieve this balance in your gallery.

A slower, analogue approach to weddings
I want to approach your wedding with intention – and film photography is the perfect medium for this. The sensitive chemical reactions at play in film photography demand high-skill – but that’s why the frames are always magical. If you’re after beautiful, unique to the moment images, then having me bring film to your wedding is the best strategy.
I’m lucky enough to have access to 35mm and 120mm cameras that I use for weddings. I also work with a film specialist – Josie Stadler – for weddings with lots of film to maximize the quality of imagery from your wedding. Different film quantities are included in every package, so please ask about film options when inquiring if you’re interested in more.

The poetic and intentional
use of light
Being able to make the most of light is a photography superpower.
The intentional use of light is essential for beautiful imagery and story-telling. Using light to create visually poetic images, filled with emotion is one of my goals on a wedding day. Using natural light for this is my favourite approach, and I use flash only nessesary for a certain look. We plan for this during our consultations together before your wedding.

Emotive Black & Whites
I love a good black and white image. I use the removal of colour to draw deeper attention to what is happening in a photo. Texture, emotion and the subtle shifts in contrast stand out and therefore become more weighty with story.
For producing authentic and artistic images that require no performance, black-and-white is one of my favourite tools.

Helping you be present
Not a photography style, but consistently mentioned in my reviews is that my guidance was calming.
At your wedding, I show up as a friend who is invested in your day, not just as a service provider. My priority is to help you remain present and take it all in. It’s when you do this that the best images are captured. This is part of my working as a curator instead of an artist.
