Saskia and Pieter’s Stellenbosch Country Wedding

Editorial artistry meets Stellenbosch farm life in this elevated country wedding celebration

Hidden just outside well-trode Stellenbosch Wine Route, lies Hawksmoor House – the venue Saskia and Pieter chose for their wedding. Their day carried intention with a private first glance, layered personal touches and enough room for loads of fun. If you knew the couple, you’d say it reflected them perfectly. The day moved without urgency, allowing everyone to soak in the grand moments, while still making room for genuine connection.

The wedding venue and choice of decor gave Saskia and Petier’s special day an elevated sense of country living. Often farm estates, especially old ones, can feel rustic and forgotten. But as there was so much intention to the day that nothing felt out of place or derelict. The couple took great care to design and curate every item used in their wedding – which I think should be the standard for every couple planning their wedding celebration

Some of the best moments of the day happened quietly before the ceremony. Preparation was intimate with friends and family, and the private first look was tear-jerking. My absolute favourite part of the day was stepping into an overgrown lavender field for couple photos. Golden light wrapped around Saskia and Peiter, turning this already beautiful scene into a cinematic masterpiece. The night ended with a harvest table dinner during reception, punctuated by speeches and then rounded off with a rehersed first dance into a fun with everyone.

Thank you Saskia and Pieter for bringing me along! It was so special to be involved with your special day.
