Saskia and Pieter’s Lavender Field Wedding
Documented on digital and film photography

Editorial meets Country
Hidden just outside well-trode Stellenbosch Wine Route, lies Hawksmoor House – the venue Saskia and Pieter chose for their wedding. Their day carried intention with a private first glance, layered personal touches, but also sweet and fun. If you knew the couple, you’d say it reflected them perfectly. The day moved without urgency, allowing everyone to soak in moments, punctuated with tears and laughter.
The venue and choice of decor gave an elevated sense of country living. Often farms, especially old ones, can feel rustic. But as there was so much intention to the day, nothing felt out of place or derelict.
Some of the best moments of the day happened quietly before the ceremony. Preparation was intimate with friends and family, and the private first look was tear-jerking. My absolute favourite moment was stepping into an overgrown lavender field for couple photos. Golden light wrapped around them, turning something already beautiful into something cinematic.
Thank you Saskia and Pieter for bringing me along!
