Damian from Curator has been a wedding photographer for four year and is based in Cape Town, but captures weddings all across South Africa and the world. He believes in approaching weddings as a curator instead of as an artist. He says this creates the right environment for his couples to relax, be present to each other and then to connect authentically. This is the recipe for the kind of meaningful, “soul-soaked” wedding images you can feel. Damian argues playing witness and encourager rather than creator allows his couples, their connection and their wedding experience to be the center of attention. It’s this that he tries to capture and reflect back to his couples in their wedding photos.
Stylistically, Curator mixes digital and analogue film mediums. This, along with an honest documentary perspective for candid imagery and a touch of editorial technique for a few special shots, allowis Damian to produce wedding images that are artistic, full of emotion and timeless.
