CINEMATIC WEDDING AT LANGKLOOF ROSES
Reinhardt & Melissa’s Love Story Set Amoungst The Roses in Langkloof
NOVEMBER | WELLINGTONLangkloof Roses is quickly becoming one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph. This space, the light and the scent all carry a certain romance that can only be described as magic. I recently got to document an emotional, elopement-style vow ceremony here and was reminded about how perfect this location is.
Melissa and Reinhart shared with me that it was their dream to get married at Langkloof from the start. For them, it was the buildings and curated natural spaces. It all feels like a medieval castle that was once forgotten but then recently rediscovered. Although nature has been left to creep in and flourish, great care has also been taken to turn these grounds into a functional wedding venue. They even have a brand new modern indoor venue that’s perfect for dancing.
Playing between these locations, we mimicked Melissa and Reinhardts story up until their marriage. A mixture of fun, beautiful romance and candid beauty. Then, we captured their getting-ready together, which was beautifully intimate and left everyone feeling speechless.
For me, the late evening light compliments the atmosphere of Langkloof Roses. It fills the air with gentle warmth. It paints the images with a glow that mirrors what’s happening inside. The pastures and dams hold open spaces to use the sunset and create interesting compositions. Melissa and Reinhardt used these open spaces for a private vow session. Afterwards, as the sun disappeared below the horizon, M + R enjoyed a picnic dinner set up and decorated by Melissa herself.
